Short Breaks

4/5 night breaks are calculated at 70% of the weekly rate. 2/3 night breaks are calculated at 50% of the weekly rate.

Booking

I will reserve the cottage for you for five clear working days to enable you to forward to me a 20% deposit and a completed Booking Form. Thereafter, I will write to you confirming your reservation, and giving you the date by which the balance is due. The balance of the cost for the period for which you have booked is due no later than four weeks before the start of the let. In the event that you are booking less than 4 weeks before the start of the let, payment in full will be required with the Booking Form. Please calculate the cost of your stay at the price stated for the date on which you wish to start your holiday. For subsequent weeks, please calculate using the price current at the start of that week.

Arriving and Leaving: You may arrive at or after 3 pm. If you would like to arrive earlier, please mention it at the time of booking and I will let you know whether it will be possible. It would assist if you could keep me informed of your likely time of arrival, so that I can meet you. I ask that you vacate by 10.00 a.m. on the final day to allow us to clean the cottage prior to the next occupants arriving. Please can you put the keys back in to the Keysafe when you leave. Thank you
Although I would ask that you keep the cottage in a reasonably clean and tidy state during your stay and place all rubbish in the black wheelie bin prior to leaving, the final clean is included in the price of your holiday. You are responsible for the actual cost of any breakage or damage in or to the accommodation - along with any additional costs that may result - which are caused by you or your party. Rubbish is collected on a Thursday morning.

The price of your stay includes:  Electricity, heating, bed linen (changed weekly if your stay is for more than one week) and tea towels. Towels are available at no extra cost (to include one hand and one bath towel each). PLEASE DO NOT TURN OFF THE CENTRAL HEATING IN THE WINTER MONTHS WHEN YOU LEAVE THE COTTAGE!
A welcome pack is provided for your arrival.
Please do not allow more persons to stay in the cottage than the maximum stated in my brochure.
The cottage has the benefit of television, with free WiFi – the code is in the cottage instruction booklet.

Other useful information: There is no telephone in the property. Reception is available on O2 and Vodafone. The reception on EE is intermittent. However, in common with most of the Forest, One-to-One and other networks are non-starters!
Central heating and hot water is provided by a Combi Boiler please allow the shower to run for a few minutes prior to use otherwise it can be a bit bracing! The cottage has a washer/dryer for your use. A clothes line is provided in the garden over the bridge also for your use.
In the cottage you will find ample reading material and folder containing tourist information so that you can plan your stay, which I hope will be a happy one. There are a number of public footpaths accessible directly from the cottage. Furthermore, by driving a couple of miles down to Redbrook on the river Wye and walking across the foot bridge, you will find a large number of footpaths on the Welsh side of the Wye.
I have equipped the cottage with maps for your use. However, you can order various maps, walking and cycling guides in advance via the Forest of Dean web site: www.forestofdean.gov.uk

Finally, just a reminder that The Cottage is NO SMOKING.

Please telephone or text me the day before the start of your holiday to let me know your expected time of arrival.
